Today I found those two colossal buttons. I suppose they are from Regensburg. There is a letter above the crossed keys, most likely an "H".
When was this "H" used?
Who is "IGC/K"?
Regensburg "H": Maker "IGC/K"

Re: Regensburg "H": Maker "IGC/K"
very interesting
Johann Georg Christoph Kahr
You can find him in Adressbook from 1847 but not as a goldsmith
He was a button maker.

I am delighted you were able to identify the maker. Thank you!
I did not know those heart-shaped contours were used that long. Learning never stops.

in 1801 was a Gold- & Silversmith Johann Georg Christoph Kahr in Regensburg
but he was "Weiland" (death) as is son Georg Friedrich Christoph was born
so the 1847 maker was probably a son
I think You are right and it ist about from 1800
