Munich/Theodor Heiden?

Post by orthogonal »

A dear friend would like to know who produced this dish. The most recent coin is from 1871.
Is it the "Münchner Kindl"? Does that still refer to the city or is it, on "modern" silver, used as a makers mark (like T Heiden did).
Or is Blachian the maker? Like the in BAS jewelry. If so - why the Kindl?

Hello, believe Blachian to be the maker. Heiden also used the Kindl, as other Munich makers did and do, but in combination with his initials. The Kindl is used by modern Munich makers for traditional reasons. Regards, Bahner

Is there a way to date the piece? When did Blachian start production?
