I cannot identify the maker's mark that is on this plate. It is a 6 1/2" diameter plate marked STERLING and 925/1000 plus another mark (a maker's mark I assume).

I would like to post a picture of the mark to ask for help but cannot find how to do that.

Thanks,
John

Hi again,
I have followed the directions several times for posting pictures, but mine will not post. The tiny pict thing will not take a jpeg (that's what I tried to put into it and it did not take it and gave a long list of every sort of image I ever heard of with the notice that it would not take any of those). I do not know what to do next.

Hi ~ welcome to the forums.

It's not shown on the page linked, but this is another mark used by Gebelein:

Hello and thank you. Do you know where I can find a picture of this Gebelein mark? I've also been told it may be for AE GOODHUE of Quincy, MA., but I can't find any pictures of any marks for that maker.

Thank you,
John

The Goodhue mark is similar, but this one is Gebelein - both marks are found in Rainwater & Felgar's 'Encyclopedia of American Silver Manufacturers, Revised Fourth Edition' (1998), pages 120 and 126.
