Lost as to where to keep hunting...

Post by Ysbub »

I have four sterling spoons whose markings I cannot identify. Since I cannot make out a letter, I am having a hard time finding something on them. If you click on the pic, you will get a bigger picture.

This mark is close to the tine end of the forks... I cannot make out what the middle mark might be:

This mark is farther up the handle:

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks very much.

I just answered my own question ;)

The middle mark looks like a Lion T trademark used by Towle Silversmiths.

I still don't know what the other marks are though, the fleur de lis with the bird, if anyone has any ideas.

Thank you for being a great resource!

The fleur de lis and bird marks are for the La Fayette pattern made by Towle.
