Unknown Marks on Silver Spoons

Post by Kwester »

I have seven small spoons, all of the same pattern, five of which are marked with an H, a W in a circle with fleur-de-lis-like "arms", and the word Sterling. The other two are marked with the letter W, three unknown (by me) symbols, followed by Sterling Pat. 1932. I would greatly appreciate hearing from anyone who can provide any information on the origin of these spoons.

Hi ~ welcome to the forums. Your spoons are in the 'Troubador' pattern, initially introduced by Concord Silver in 1932, they were also produced under the Frank M. Whiting trademark after Ellmore Silver acquired both companies around 1940...

I see that you replied back on the 22nd. I had checked "Notify me when a reply is posted," but I haven't received any emails or messages. Thought I'd check back today, and was so pleased to see your very informative reply. Thank you so much!
