Fred Harvey by Gorham No. 06779

A very complicated set of codes and symbols here. The presumed date symbol appears closest to the anvil code for 1921, but it is somewhat awkward looking to be certain. I don't see any definite suggestion of re-plating work, but at the top is a rectangle confined within a diamond, all over 12-22. Below the Fred Harvey script name is 9-16. If those are servicing dates, the the date code symbol cannot make sense as 1921. This is a half-pint jug that could be either a large creamer or a small gravy boat. Before swinging to Native American or Indian motifs, the Harvey Company like the Santa Fe Railway worked more in Spanish historicism themes and these were reflected in the designs and outfittings of the earlier lodgings before Mary Coulter made a big shift in concept. The eating houses were more based in regular Victorian standards, but ceramics were more likely than silverplate in the main dining rooms...not to say they didn't have special service wares.
