Hi,

These are French silver plater's marks.

To understand the 25g mark, see: https://www.925-1000.com/a_platenumbers.html

Thanks very much. The mark looks like a small ship or Anchor with an O and S letter marks for the maker under a loop...do you have any ideas who this may be by?

Thanks,

Amy

There are few fast answers in French plater's marks, but you might read this and note Trev's entry of a firms list in French Advertisements section of Contributor Notes: viewtopic.php?f=26&t=52429&p=167641&hilit=orfevres#p167641

Not an attribution, but just an example of how the "O" for Orfevrerie might come into play in such marks: https://www.925-1000.com/silverplate__Init_O.html

I think the maker`s mark is upside down and it depicts caduceus, the staff carried by Hermes or Latin Mercury.
