As embedded pictures are much more useful to our contributors and browsers I have taken the liberty of cropping your pictures and uploading them to an easily accessible photo hosting site:
Your knife has an electroplate mark of Elkington & Co of Birmingham. The letter L is their private date code for 1897. The other mark is that of the Cunard shipping line.
