Candle holders, CC in a crown mark, silver or silverplate?

Hi!

Here’s a pair of candle holders. I’ve given one of them a good scratch and acid test, with only positive results for silver. Perhaps it’s just a very thick quality plate?

I’ve seen threads about this mark combined with various other marks that would mean it is silverplate.

But I’ve also found pieces with this mark that surely is silver.

My guess is that they are made by Carl F. Christiansen.

Any help on this appreciated.

Hi,
Right, this is the mark of Carl F. Christiansen (Copenhagen 1943-63).
If that`s the only mark, then it`s silver plated (no three tower mark or millesimal fineness).
Scratching and acid test is not reliable unless filing deep enough to reach base metal(and can ruin the piece).
