Good day
I have bought this mustard/sugar spoon online. It was sold as Russian silver, but I am not certain. It is 8.3cm long and weighs 3.9 grams. The bowl of spoon resembles a poppy or cherry flower. It seems to have a mark that resembles St Petersburg followed by 2 other marks, but it could also just be Japanese symbols. The back of bowl also seems to have a mark. I will have the spoon within a week and will then clean it and take better pictures. Any information for now will be welcome.

Thank you. I still think it is a lovely piece. It does look like something oriental. Will just have to be patient.AG2012 wrote:Hi,

Nice spoon, could be Korean and looking at the images perhaps not silver.

Good day
I finally got the salt spoon. It does seem to be plated. Some parts of the bass metals are yellowish and other a copper pink. The spoon are marked with 84 on back of bowl and *84* on the stem.
Think it is Japanese

Re: Ornate spoon
Given the 3 1/2" length, all that has been noted, could this be a Macha (green tea) spoon for the "wide eyes" who preferred things more shiny than bamboo and didn't want to operate a scoop? And if it is a cherry flower, that leaf certainly looks right...a theme just perfect for the tourist trade.
