Though different forms of maker mark, a matched set as both are hand etched {"K." over line over "P." next to "Pair"}...not visible in photos and just below maker marks. Heavy ring bases. Finger tabs in handle design (like layered epaulets here) as often common to hotel/commercial pieces. Rope-like simple embellishment in design (like restrained gadrooning). No other items from this pattern have been located in searches. Any knowledge of established pattern name, known users, or production era are welcomed. [Items had polish paste left on as though someone long ago never finished their work before tarnish had set back in....not all that unusual. Left as is in photos.] Sorry I can't provide exact measurements right now, but large enough for table services for at least six.
R&B Set Un-Named Pattern No. 1565
Re: R&B Set Un-Named Pattern No. 1565
Note: The same finial was found on a different style lid for Pattern No. 1315 ( a Boston & Albany R.R. marked sample). It would appear these components were viewed as interchangeable among designs allowing new patterns to be customized. The rope border was spotted on an item with fluted body from another earlier pattern.
