Help identifying a Large 32 inch x 20 in serving tray

Post by azsportscardsandtoys »

Hello everyone!
I am new to the group and could use some help. I was left a huge 32x20 inch serving tray by a family member. It weighs around 11.2 pounds and has very little markings on it. The only markings on the back of the hand are 1798 G 26 and then a very tiny circle after. It also has 2984 scratches on the back rim.It is engrave to George L Black on the front with a presented date of January 1868. Unfortunately my relative is no longer around for me to ask her where it came from. I bought a silver test online and I can't even tell if I'm doing that right. I have searched the internet and this website, even on eBay and have found nothing even like it. Any help would be apppreciated.

Hi Billy,

Welcome to the Forum.

Just to assure you we are not ignoring you, I think you have just got us beat with this one.

The numbers may well relate to a manufacturers stock/order/batch detail, but beyond that I can suggest no more.

Hopefully someone will come along with something more positive.

Trev.
