A recent sale (April 2019) sheds more light on Empire. An NOS box of two dozen viande knives carried the number 514 on the box and indicated production by the Hotel Division of International Silver in Meriden Ct.. The box was date stamped for September 1964 and was reported to have been shipped to "our store" in that era. The word Silco dies not seem to be in use by that time.
