1889 Plate Fruit Knife

Post by bernynhel »

I think I'm in the right forum - the marks faux hallmarks? The first looks like a right facing lion or other animal, an anchor, what looks like an Old English upper case "M" in a square and the 750 stamp near the back tang . One cartouche is engraved "1889". Thanks, again, and in advance for any light you can shed on this.

Thanks and apologies - the error message I received when trying to upload even larger images advised me of 1000 pixels/side - these were 800 - I'll use the email sized ones from now on.
