Help with trademark - possibly Silver not Silverplate

Post by NancyS »

I have tried to read up on the type of item I have posted, but am having trouble because the style of the design looks very much like Alvin Silver Manufacturing Company, yet the markings do not match that company's trademark. Here are 2 photos:

I am sorry the photos are not expertly taken, but this is all I could manage.
Thank you kindly.

Hi Nancy,

Welcome to the Forum.

It's a Gorham piece, see: http://www.925-1000.com/Gorham_Date_Code.html

Several companies, besides Alvin, produced silver deposit/silver overlaid wares.

Please remember in future posts to embed your images, as very few people will click on links or thimbnails.
