Silver Pendant

I have bought this pendant this week. It has a amethyst and unknown stone. Can not find any markings on it but hopefully someone recognize the style? Any idea what stone it could be?

Might be just another one of those photo effects, but looks to me like some markings are present at the neck (base of top) on the back side? (Letters and/or numbers.)

The large stone is opal in matrix.

The opal has a trade name of "Boulder Opal" (just a fancier more marketable name for 'opal in matrix' which of course, it is) :::
