Unknown maker's mark on silver lion head bracelet

Post by daSola »

Hello, I recently came across this silver, Etruscan revival look penannular bracelet with lion head terminals. One head bears the tiniest maker's mark I ever saw on the side of the lion's head and I've been unable to find it in the reference books. I couldn't capture a perfect shot of it on my cam and had to put it under a microscope to make it out. The third image is my attempt to draw what I saw under the microscope. The majuscule letters S T E, what looks like a bullseye or target, then two unknown characters that look like a lower case i and r are housed in an oval. There is an accent mark over the E and a line below the T and E. My rendering of it is off in scale: the S is larger, followed by smaller T and E in superscript position, and the final two characters are smaller than drawn. I made out a "92" stamped on the top of the other lion head, as shown. Any ideas?
