Hi Elena

Maker is Joseph and Richard Griffin of Chester. Active from 1895/1896 onwards. Date letter is rubbed, but looks to be in the style of letters from 1901-1925 - but probably before 1913 as the maker became a Ltd company then and the mark changed. Link here for the date letter table - http://www.925-1000.com/dlc_chester.html. Maybe 1906 (F) or 1907 (G)? Others may have an opinion too.

Cheers

Hi,
Try to compare the distinctive upper loop of the letter here;date letters are better depicted. Not many options.

It looks like the letter G, which is lying on its side. 1907. Is it possible? All this is very unexpected and interesting. Thank you very much!
