Please help with maker and year cheers

Hi I've just moved into a house and been sorting threw boxes in garage and found the bracelet but and struggling on finding the maker and year any help would be great cheers

The sponsor, SJ, is not known to me but the date code on this Birmingham hallmark looks like the "L" of 1985.

Cheers for reply phil i also think this is an L but old style which dates 1870s

The SJ mark also relates to samual jackson which only worked from 1871 for. 3 years i believe

The shapes of the punches, particularly the anchor mark, put it very firmly at 1975 or later.

So if your sayin 1975 or later then whos tge maker as the only one i can find is dated 1871

As I said in my earlier reply, the maker is not known to me. There is no published comprehensive reference for Birmingham makers' marks so the Birmingham Assay Office are the only people who will be able to answer your question. If you do contact them (see http://www.theassayoffice.com) I am sure that we will all be interested to see the result.

Just to add, Birmingham assay office have been very helpful for me in the past with identifying modern makers marks, just make sure you send them a photo of the makers mark when you email them.
