Hello, I found this 9" dish but cannot find a reference to the mark other than "silver", can anyone advise? Thank you.
Chinese silver pickle dish mark?
Re: Chinese silver pickle dish mark?
Welcome to the Forum.
The marks are Chinese, but the style is, in my opinion, closer to Kutch or Indian silver. Indeed, it looks like nearly identical to the pierced pattern of the letter rack and small tray discussed in this post, although in this case without the beaded border:

Others have noted that this pattern was popular throughout Asia and elsewhere, but if the workmanship is a close match, it might suggest a link.
The maker's mark is well photographed but poorly struck and indistinct. I don't recognize it, but hopefully it will be identified in time.
Regards,
DR
