Postby mysterling » Sat Apr 01, 2017 7:13 am

Good morning
Please I need your help to identify a mark.
I see deer in one mark and a punch in Islamic language you do not know.
Does anyone know what it is or what nation they come? or if they had a specific use these glasses?

Yes either Arabic or Farsi (Persian). Worth a bump. See if one of other members can translate it for you.

Good morning Simon,

Worth a bump is a phrase used here to push the thread back to the top where others hopefully who are capable of in this case translating the text to help identify what we are looking at.

Good luck!

There is a book on Ottoman marks and I wish I had it but I don't and its expensive. However if you search on the internet for Ottoman silver maker marks and search for images, you can see a page from this book with some makers arranged by geographical location and by chance, this mark is one of them and it says that it is the mark of Karamanukyan Invan based in either Aleppo or Damascus in Syria which was part of the Ottoman Empire
