Greetings all and thank you in advance for any help you can provide me. I have this lovely cigarette/card case that I have had for many years but knew little about. After some research I believe this to be Persian silver .875 (note the '84' in Persian/Farsi rather than 84), most likely from the late 1800's? (1890's or perhaps early 1900's?)
What I cannot determine is the hallmark; the marks are small and not stamped very clearly but it appears that the town (or maker) on the right is partially obscured, or not struck all the way? Has anyone seen a hallmark similar, or can anyone help me identify where this was made, and around what time frame?
