Please help! For a jewel old cross.

Post by Sina »

Hello,

unfortunately I have not found anything where I could introduce myself, so here very briefly.
I come from Germany, speak only English school and now used the translator ....
I am 47 years old.

I inherited an old cross jewelry piece, not valuable, I think, but I find it very exciting, because I do not know anything about it!
I got it from my grandma and this in turn by a very old lady.
My grandmother was born in 1915 in East Prussia and she has after the second World War I lived in Darmstadt.

I have been trying to previously find out something about the cross and the stamp on the back, but so far without success!
Now I have the hope that you can help me here!

Thank you for an answer!

Greetings!

Sina

I am not sure why no one answered you, this is not my area of expertise, but your cross is Mexican. If you see on the right of the large mark, MEXICO. On the left side 925 meaning sterling. They are not rare, at least on this continent.

Hello,

thanks for reply!

Do you have any more information, such as how old it is?

Greetings!

Sorry I can't make out enough of the mark to tell the maker, Perhaps you can compare it to the ones posted on this site. My guess is that it is probably less than 60 years old, but this really isn't my field, I only recognize a dozen or so makers that I found worth selling.

Hi Sina,

Welcome to the Forum.

I'm afraid my knowledge of Mexican silver can be written on the back of a postage stamp, but check out Enrique Ledesma at: http://www.925-1000.com/mx_ledesma_X.html
