Hello niceguy!
As I checked in the Neuwirth: Wiener silber, the maker is presumably Leopold Bösenbeck. (page 209.)
The other mark is a tax mark.

Re: Austria, 1867-1872 "extra mark"
Hello! Welcome to the forum! You are right about the hallmark, it's Austria-Hungary. The "P" is the assay office's controll mark for Pest. Bitween 1867-1872 the local assay offices stamped. After 1872 this character became part of the hallmark. The maker is Teschlag József in Pest, Born 1...

Hello Trev!
As I saw in the date mark project: http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic ... 38&t=37335
Hose showed marks with similar oblong from 1834, and 1837. But the church in the same year was different in his mark.
I'm courious the reason too!
Best regards!

Re: CAKE STAND NEED HELP TO ID MAKER
Hello! I think I can't interpret better, then the mentioned citation. So if the item didn't meet the standards (silver:750‰ ;800‰ ;900‰ ;950‰ ), punched this mark to the item -with the control mark. Here is an example for you. https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg Before 1867 in the Monarch...

Re: CAKE STAND NEED HELP TO ID MAKER
Hello! This VR mark is probably a storage hallmark from the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. "1867 until March 31, 1868 also valid for those gold and silver objects which did not meet the standards of the prescribed fineness (control-mark is put next to it)" Lanz-Schmid-Strahalm: Silber der öst...

Hello Ringo! I think, in this case you better forget Grosswardein (Nagyvárad). I've seen a lot of time, and it's totally different. It's represent a lion with an axe, sometimes without his axe. Re: Mystery marks on Wiener Werkstatte style brooch
Hello Anthony! I think, your piece made in Germany, then went to Eger. My guess: the maker is "s.s" somewhere in Germany. When the brooch arrived to the Austro-hungarian monarchy, they stamped the pin with the c7, and the other mark. I still suggest, try to compare the mark to the austro-h...

Re: Mystery marks on Wiener Werkstatte style brooch
Almost I forgot to mention. From 1868 to 1921 in the Austro-Hungarian monarchy the assay office of Eger (czech) was C7. I cannot identify in your picture, but it is possible, that is an austro-hungarian import mark in the pin. I recommend, try to compare to this: http://www.925-1000.com/Faustria_02....
