Re: 18th Century Spoon, Amsterdam?
Thanks, Peter.
When holding the spoon with the bowl pointing downwards, the marks are on the left of the rat-tail.
Do you know what the lady is holding? It looks like a leaf and a feather.

Re: Arms identification request on Dognose fork
I'm certainly no expert on heraldry, but I think it might be German.
It seems to be a fess between three mullets of six points Or for the Wenns family: http://www.ellipsis.cx/~liana/heraldry/ ... nwenns.jpg
Let us know if you find out anything else.

Jugenstil Cigarette Case
Can anyone tell me the maker (or even the initials) on this stylish cigarette case? I'd also be interested to know anything about the engraving. It's been a while since I've seen this topic.
Definitely William Hope, and although he did fake marks I think these are genuine.

Dating a Spoon from a Dig Site
I'm posting this question on behalf of another member. Part of a base-metal spoon found at a dig site in Massachusetts. Is anyone able to date or place the spoon using the unusual drop? Looks like 1809 to me. I can't help with the maker.

Re: Exeter towers or some drum sticks?
I think if you were to clean the hallmarks (not that I would advise it) more of the design would become clear. In this period of the Exeter Assay Office, the dies for the hallmarks were being cut by the talented William Wyon and his son Leonard Charles Wyon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Char...
