Re: Maker request on round French box
Picard’s second mark was registered on 16 May 1856, not 1846. Sorry for the typo.

Re: Maker request on round French box
Hello I believe the maker of your box is Edme Picard, initials E.P., symbol a crown and a crescent (une couronne et un croissant). Picard specialized in snuff boxes (la tabatière). He registered marks on 3 February 1849, 16 May 1846, and 13 June 1860, erased 15 April 1864. He first worked at 114 rue...

Hello
Granvigne was in business for a long time, and his punch varied a bit. The one on your object matches closely the mark illustrated in Arminjon.
From the style of your cup, I feel confident that the maker is Granvigne.
Regards.

Re: Sugar tongs
Hello This appears to be the mark of Joseph Adoue, manufacturing silversmith, initials JA, symbol a shoemaker’s awl (alène de cordonnier). Adoue worked in Paris at 22 rue Saint-Sauveur. He registered his mark 2 times: 4 August 1857, erased 12 August 1862; and 21 July 1863, erased 2 November 1877. Du...

Hello You have a Paris 18th C fruit or dessert knife with a silver blade and what appears to be a mother-of-pearl handle. There is a date letter mark (poinçon de jurande) of a crowned S for 1758, a charge mark of a harrow (une herse) and a discharge mark of a shell (une coquille), in use from 1756-1...

Re: Help to identify the usuage for this bowl
Hello
Your bowl has Maya-inspired design elements, telling me that this is a purely decorative object made for the tourist trade. The brand name “artistic silver” would indicate this also.
Therefore you can use the bowl for whatever you prefer: trinkets, bonbons, etc.

Re: Francois-Dominique Naudin?
Hello It would be courteous to show all the marks on your object to help in dating and provenance. The mark you show is not a hallmark, but perhaps a maker’s mark in a lozenge-shaped reserve. We can safely rule out Naudin as the maker, but would need the full set of marks to do any further research....

Re: marked positioned correctly?
Hello Thank you for the clear photos of the marks, and for showing the entire object. It appears my friend that you have presented an authentic, 18th C French tastevin. You have a maker’s mark for Henry Allain. He apprenticed to David André at age 16 on 24 January 1715. On 5 October 1745 he register...

Re: Unidentified silversmith
Dictionaries of French post-Revolutionary maker’s marks are organized by the first letter of the mark. Therefore if the first letter isn’t clear, you have little chance to find the maker.
Good luck in your research on this item!

You're welcome.
As you seem particularly interested in tastevins, it is good to have some methods to detect authenticity problems. These items are widely faked.

Re: Unidentified silversmith
Hello Once again, you have an object that tries to mimic an earlier tastevin. You’re correct that the Minerva and the maker’s mark in a lozenge-shaped reserve are both indicators of post-1838 manufacture. The marks on the base are pure fantasy. I can’t see the initials in the lozenge-shaped reserve ...

Re: Mark for foreign objects?
Hello The last time you posted this item, it was lost when there were upgrades to the platform, so information was lost. Let me state again that in my opinion this tastevin is a fake. I’ve mentioned the reasons why: a damaged silver standard punch and now we see the punch isn’t placed on the rim nea...
