Thanks Buckler, looks like I turned up a good find, it was definitely more luck than judgement.

Re: Lewis Ourry tablespoons.
Hi Trev,
Thanks for that information. Out of interest have you seen other examples of his work and is he known mainly for flatware?
Martin.

Lewis Ourry tablespoons.
Hi, I have recently acquired a pair of Lewis Ourry tablespoons dated 1743. After searching the forum and the net in general, I am struggling to find any other examples of his work. These spoons seem quite well made and I would therefore be interested in seeing what else he produced, can anybody poin...

Help needed on spoon marks
Hi, Can anyone help me identify the origins of this tablespoon? It only has 2 marks, a maker's mark of HG and another which to me looks like a mushroom lying on its side. Any help gratefully appreciated. Martin. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/supermezz/SAM_0427_zpsa74262b9.jpg http://img.pho...

Re: Vinaigrette marks - Help Please.
Hi Jonty, You can rule out 1829 as the Leopard's Head would be uncrowned in that year. By the style of the box I would be more inclined to put it at 1809, rather than the earlier date. As to the maker, I will let somebody else speculate on that as I think there could be a number of candidates. Regar...

Re: unusual Scottish dessert spoons
Hi Frank, To me it looks very similar to an unattributed mark often found on work by John Zeigler, the date would match also.

Martin.

Thanks Phil, you are right it is remarkably similar to that of Thomas Moore. It would not be the first time the inclusion or exclusion of a pellet has cropped up on these forums and undoubtedly wont be the last.

Maker's mark help on mote spoom
Hi, I would be grateful for any ideas on who this maker's mark belongs to. It is on a mote spoon that I would date at around 1760-80. Regards, Martin http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/supermezz/PICT0293_zps7c016fbe.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/supermezz/PICT0295_zpsf1a62ad8.jpg

Mote spoon marks help required
Hi All, I have aquired this mote spoon, which by its design and basic piercing I would attribute to early 18thc. I am really stuggling to decipher the two hallmarks, the one nearest the bowl I assume is the makers mark, the other I would expect to be the lion passant but what remains doesn't seem to...

18thc Silver Ladle - hallmark help required
Hi, I have this 18thc silver sauce ladle with what I assume is a Thomas Chawner maker's mark. However due to contraction of the marks because of where they are stamped and also general wear I am struggling to decipher them, can anyone help? Re: Unknown makers mark on spoon
Hi Trev, I have attached an image of the whole of the front of the spoon and also one of the rear where the stem joins the bowl. This join looks unusual to me and is making me think the spoon may be continental. Regards, Martin http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/supermezz/PICT9990_zpsc8c64eb1.jp...

Unknown makers mark on spoon
Hi All, I have this large serving spoon with very worn hallmarks and later gilding, however the makers mark RM is still visible (please see image). I can't find a match and am beginning to doubt it is even British. Any help or thoughts gratefully received. Regards, Martin http://img.photobucket.com/...

Any ideas on the maker?
Hi, I have a George II caster hallmarked for London 1748, unfortunately the makers mark is worn. There appears to be a G visible, I would appreciate any thoughts on who the maker might be or is this an impossible ask? Thanks Martin http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v504/supermezz/PICT9885_zpsadb4406...
