Re: Small Russian Tea Glass Holder - Karl Fend?
Hello, Some photos of the engravings - I have just provided the links to the photos, as the full sized photos would not fit on this page. http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj239/ammolithmine/019.jpg http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj239/ammolithmine/017.jpg http://i273.photobucket.com/albums/jj2...

Re: Small Russian Tea Glass Holder - Karl Fend?
Hi Piette Looking just to the engravings quality seems to be Fend, maybe worked with a little more care from what I've seen in the past. For this reason I will say : It’s a Fend+ , but never the another К.Ф Regards, Asti Hello Asti, Thank you for confirming this. When I bought it, I knew it would...

Small Russian Tea Glass Holder - Karl Fend?
Good afternoon all, I have a question about an object of mine which I acquired a few months ago. It is a solid silver tea glass holder (podstakannak? smaller than the usual size...) and it is engraved, and has a diamond & sapphire set twin headed imperial eagle on the front. The diamonds and sap...

Re: I need help identifying these spoons
Evening Dad,
I had taken this into account when writing my previous reply, but I didn't mention it as I thought there could be no way the mark on the spoons matched P-L #2017. The cartouche is the wrong shape. The mark shown in P-L is much more rounded in shape.
Regards,
Piette

Re: I need help identifying these spoons
If this is a set of six spoons then why are five of them marked with the dvoinik for St Petersburg 1882-1898 and the other one of them marked Moscow 1877??? Apologies everyone! I did not look closely enough at the photos and as a result of this, I mistook a blurred photo of what is meant to be the ...

If this is a set of six spoons then why are five of them marked with the dvoinik for St Petersburg 1882-1898 and the other one of them marked Moscow 1877??? Also, to add to this, the Firm of Khlebnikov moved entirely to Moscow in 1871, and did no work in St Petersburg after this date - so how did th...

Re: Can anyone identify these marks - STNIKOVA?
Hello, In this instance, I disagree with Zolotnik about the quality of the enamelling. To me, the wires don't look right although it can be hard to tell without close up pictures. Also, the heavily oxidised background of the case brings doubts to my mind. This is more commonly found on fake enamelle...

Re: I need help identifying these spoons
I have been keeping my eye on this topic for a while now and in that time I have changed my mind-set from 'fake' to 'genuine' a hundred times over. For a while I agreed with Dad, then with Qrt.S and Zolotnik, then Dad again etc. I have had a good look through my books and as far as I am concerned, t...

Good evening Steffen, First off I will tell you that I am pleased that I was able to translate your username into English... :) Being 1/4 German has paid off afterall! The marks would suggest August Hollming, St Petersburg, 1899-1908 but... are these the only two sets of hallmarks on the box? If so,...

Hi Dad,
Sorry about this - I didn't read your post properly :-)
I understand that the small kokoshnik is 3.5x1.5mm - can you tell me, what is the proper size of the big kokoshnik?

Piette

Re: С. П. ВУРГ mark on Spoon
Hello all, Forgive me if I am wrong but, I think the kokoshnik mark on Ringo's object is dubious. As far as I am aware, the chin should smoothly continue into the ear whereas in Ringo's mark, the ear sticks out from the chin? Do you see what I mean? Could someone else please offer a second opinion o...
