Re: Help Identify Marks (likely Europe/Dutch)
About "import". I think, it is necessary to divide concepts. There is import of products for sale through customs. It is official import with the corresponding procedures and attributes. But, silver products can be brought (from foreing) privately, as personal, own. Then, it was brought in...

@Dad, Unfortunately I cannot find/I don't have the Decree 7517 of February 22, 1732) where it is stated that the silver fineness could be 75 zolotnik. Nonetheless, 75 was applied for gold coins only (1718). During the 18th century there was many "standards" for silver 62, 70, 72, 77...The...

(Decree 7517 of February 22, 1732) At this time (1770th) a usual set of punches guaranteed the minimum purity of silver - 72 z...

Dear Ort's. Why you argue? I thought that you already accepted the fact: in 1882 the hallmarks of the Russian Empire was changed only in additive of "notches" in an old type of marks. And now you forgot again?)) Assay Law of 1882 told about marks for import silver very little. I don't know...

Re: Need help with Russian Silver 84 Belt Buckle
This Belt Buckle was made in Novocherkassk 1882-1899.
It isn't " part of the national costume ". It was souvenir for the memory of the Caucasus.
You see an inscription on a buckle - "Кавказ" (Caucasus)
