I thought it was kind of big for salt or pepper. I think I once saw this caliber round, believe it was for a side by side big game rifle, think it was made for a big game hunter?

Hello again-

double struck makes sense. In this case who has a star in there mark? at least that is what it looks to be midway in the "M"
I am new at this and requesting the rest of you help me in my learning curve ambitions.

Hi Miles- I am new to this forum, but it seems that the makers mark looks more like a "C.MC" the first "C" is a little fancier which I would think would be the makers given name and the "MC" would be a sire name of like Mc. I also think this due to the fact that the pic...
