Re: Erstaz Chinese writing on silver? - or what?
The mark looks like 紋5. I do not know what this might signify, or even if it is (or is not) a silver mark. A possible translation would be "fineness 5." I would suggest looking for clues in Straits and other Chinese diasporic silver production. Hopefully someone else, or the OP, will event...

Re: Rectangle tray 970 sterling semicircle or c help identify
If this tray is Japanese, it would definitely be postwar, probably made during the Occupation (1945-1952). The marks are not very clear in the posted photos. A cropped, sharper close-up of the marks would be helpful, but perhaps not conclusive, as a number of small retailers were active during the O...

It looks like mid-20th century Indian silver. Others may have different opinions.

Re: japanese incense pot mark
Welcome to the Forum. The photos in the posted links are not clear enough to read the mark. Please try to post a cropped close-up of the mark. Most people will not click on links, so it is better to post embedded images. Here are some instructions that should help: http://www.925-1000.com/images.htm...

The maker is Zee Wo, as you say.
Looks like a trumpet vase that originally had a glass liner or insert.

Re: Help dating a 900 silver ring
That is a good photo of the mark. The style of the ring, as well as the mark, do not look Asian to me. I agree that the animal looks like a stylized dolphin, like the kind of sea creature drawn on a 17th century map of the Mediterranean. I suspect the ring is mid-twentieth century, but defer to thos...

Re: Vietnam or Korea Gold Ring
I am not certain what your question is, but if you are seeking opinions regarding the origin of the ring, here is one. Looking only at the ring and for the while forgetting about provenance, this looks like a better quality piece in silver and gold, produced for the tourist trade somewhere in SE Asi...

Re: Need Help Identifying this mark
Hello Giorgi Welcome to the Forum. The maker or retailer of this shot glass is 源 記, which can be phoneticized Yuan Ji, Yuan Ki, or Yuan Kee. There is a known maker Yuan Ji who uses different Chinese characters, 元 記. These two different first characters sometimes have a similar meaning, but it seems ...

Looks like a salt cellar, but I think it has nothing to do with Asia.
As Trev has asked, please post an image of the mark.
Hopefully a moderator will move it to the appropriate Forum, most like American.

Those do not appear to be silver marks, but there is little else to say without photos of the entire object.

Perhaps my eyesight is failing, but I do not see a kokoshnik mark but rather the post-1920 Polish national mark for 3rd standard (.800) silver:

Re: Nepalese silver teapot
To me, this looks like a late 19th / early 20th century teapot of typical Nepalese (or possibly Tibetan) baluster form. The theory of royal provenance is fantastic. If this were indeed a teapot used by the Nepalese royal family, I would expect it to be engraved with their royal coat of arms or some ...

Re: Help with ID markings and function possible ca 1900
三越製 means "Mitsukoshi-made." 純錫 means "pure tin." These are saucers designed to be used with handleless teacups or sake cups. Probably date to the 1950s-60s, perhaps a decade or two later. The box would be a better indicator of age than the saucers themselves. Hope this is helpfu...

Re: Unmarked naturalistic silver spoon
Japan is certainly a possibility. Spoons like this, with bowls of cherry blossoom flowers and stems shaped like twigs, were made by a number of different makers from the 1880s until well into the 1960s. Most were rather crude tourist items, but yours looks to be at the higher end of the scale in its...

Re: Who knows this mark
Chinese, ca 1900. The numerals 85 are a silver purity mark. The maker's chop mark is Shang, this mark has been discussed previously in this post: http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=33812&hilit=shang The third mark is not clear enough for me to read. Better photographs might p...
