Re: I'd help on this 18th century tea pot
Hi,
I read the central letters as 'ET' with 'S' and 'P' either side of it. Presumably the 'S' and 'P' stand for silver plated.
Can you capture a larger, sharp close-up of the bottom mark?

Hi,
Welcome to the Forum.
If the item is not not marker 'Sterling' or '925' or similar, then assume plated.

Re: Unknown Silverplate Initial Marks...Stumped.
Hi, I don't recall seeing the mark before, but not all marks on silver-plated items indicate the maker. Manufacturers would happily mark flatware etc. with the marks of wholesalers and retailers providing the order was large enough. This may provide another route for research. The crown would identi...

Re: Question about Id'ing mark, and age of piece
Hi, Welcome to the Forum. I don't recall seeing this mark before, but Joseph Elliot and Sons would be the likely candidate as the maker of your dish. The firm has a long history and used many marks over time, but the fact that it is marked 'Made in England' would likely indicate a 20th century date....
