Re: need help with the mark

. Some explanation why I was surprised by it. The same rules apply in France and in Belgium In France / Belgium, retailers are not allowed to use a lozenge shaped / a barrel shaped, that is only reserved for a silversmith. Instead, the retailers use a square or something else. When someone does thi...

Re: Gold Ring Found on Sussex Beach - Help with Hallmark Please

Hi Richard, ET+ is the mark of a Dutch importer. ET+ for: E. Tiessen, registered in Amsterdam from 1924/1936 . Please note entry is ET+ not E.T.+ . However the + mark is typical for a Dutch registered importer also the frame shape is typical for Amsterdam 1924-1952 https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2...

Re: Silver platter with heraldry engraving

Hi Babe, welcome to the forum.
I have moved you to the family crests. The platter has no (hall)marks to indicate solid silver and although it looks like silver it could be made out of a non precious metal and/or silver plated.
Hopefully someone will rekognize the crest.

Hi third image, the small mark could it be the French crab , guarantee mark for small items? The other marks I do not rekognize . The location of the marks I believe not to be Dutch pre 1814.

Re: need help with the mark

The barrel shaped mark could indeed be a Belgian registered retailers mark. The oval fineness mark could be a Belgian legally regulated unofficial standard mark struck by the Belgian retailer, not by an official Belgian assay office. At the moment no access to my Belgian reference books Source: L. B...

Re: need help with the mark

Hi, welcome to the forum. Yes, it appears to be a logo/retailers mark (German?), A M (with two small triangles) being the maker's mark of Fa.(Firm) Arie Mesker & Zoon (Son), registered in Schoonhoven and this particular mark used 1941/1976. Made in Holland This spoon never has seen an official a...

Re: miniature cup holder silver 800

Hi welcome to the orum

See Hanau silver:
https://www.925-1000.com/Fgerman_hanau_marks_01.html

If GR under crown the maker's mark could be for Georg Roth & Co
If CR under crown it is to me unknown German maker.

Best,
