One more thing AG2012: what's your opinion about the french "head of boar" on this dish where as it is a portuguese dish? Do you thing custom officers thought it was a franch dish as they don't know thoses marks?

Hallmark looks to be a "B" or a "P" under a crown: could its origin be Portugal?

One more thing: it is usual with french filled silver knife to find hallmark only on handle as far as blades are steel made.

As said previously ''Second line of though is what's look to be a silversmith mark... "P J" and then "N.L" (or E) in tiny letter...''

About Bologna's hallmark, it is also the St Marco lion but looking to the right not as St Marco lion from Venice looking to the left

Sorry Funkel, even if you're right about usual spanish 916 title, the 900 hallmark was also an official title in Palma at the beginning of the 20th...
