Hi!
The assayer seems to be Jacov Lyapunov in St.Petersburg. The silversmith would thereby possibly be Vasily Alexandrovich Alexandrov.
I would vote it is authentic. The photo frame shows many signs of age and wear. The mark is only a bad punch but an authentic one.
Regards,
Juke

Re: Is this a Faberge small mark? Does this look right for an 88 gilded silver pendant? TIA
I agree. Even that in my mind the marks seems quite well done the craftsmanship of the item itself is more mediocre. The work on the enamel and the sharpness of the details like letters seems very plain and thereby not high quality. Fabergés trademark was their exquisite work on the item itself and ...

Beaker 17th/18th century
Hi!
Can't attribute this one to from were it is from. Perhaps English or German? Any knowledge welcome!
The first mark is in the bottom and the second mark on the lids rim.

Re: Sazikov medal mark
I just want to ensure the information is correct on previous unresolved discussions in the forum. To add the tray I showed has crisp and correct markings, thereby without any doubt of authenticity.
Same subject also discussed in this long thread, where the medal mark is taken up on this page ...

Sazikov medal mark
Hi!
There has been earlier questioning that items bearing the Sazikov medal mark would not be genuine ones. I have found a tray bearing this mark with all the expected other marks which to my mind shows clearly the medal mark is a genuine mark. The firm Sazikov used this mark after they had won the ...

Re: Can anyone help identify whose monogram this is?
It is a Russian princely crown and the initials seem to be 'MM'. The list of Russian princely families can be found in this list:

Thank you very much! Couldn't find him in PL or Ivanov. Interesting that he uses for his initials two letters from his last name which is uncommon.

Spanish marks?
Hi!
The following marks are on a cup with a Spanish Carolus III 8 reales coin from 1763 on the bottom. Spanish (?) marks unknown for me. Any knowledge is welcome.

Thanks for the clarification! Then the marks in many of the silver mark catalogs are just examples of the silver contents in 18th century.

Beaker, St. Petersburg 1769
Hi!
I am a little confused with this marking. The silver content is marked to be '75' and according to silver mark catalogs the contents in the 18th century were 72, 74, 76, 82 and then from end of 18th century 84. Is this a new content?
Otherwise the beaker seems correct. The style of the beaker ...

Sazikov marking
Hi!
This is an interesting object as its marking has an interesting combination. There would be the Sazikov makers mark and the Andrej Kowalskij assayers mark. What about the double headed eagle mark? Or is it just not genuine?
I am wondering also on the right to use the imperial double headed ...

@Mart: Thank you for the additional information. It is interesting these numerous cases (also in the list of silversmith mark catalogs) of silversmiths mentioned only for one particular year.

Re: Sugar bowl, Moscow, 1844
Yes I notified him, also there was Georg Schwan. They both are mentioned in 1852 so I guess the question is if they were active in 1844?
How I understand this is that there are known objects made by them in 1852 and it is quite clear more or less that every silversmith worked for a longer time ...
