Re: Demitassse Spoons with marks too small to ID.

With the information in the two responses to my post, I have confirmed that the spoons are Dutch 835 silver in the Twisted Hilt-Open Crown pattern by H. Hooijkaas/VKB. I found other flatware in the pattern that had been sold on internet auctions in years past. My mother and sister, who kept the fami...

Re: Demitassse Spoons with marks too small to ID.

Thanks for the two rapid responses. I'll see what i can do to get a better image. I used a digital camera; but maybe I can rig up a way to take picture through a magnifier.

Demitassse Spoons with marks too small to ID.

I have 8 silver plate demitasse spoons that I cannot identify. The two maker marks are too small to make out any detail using a loupe and I have compared their shape with all on the website and found no match. Can anyone help? https://i.postimg.cc/4Y23xs1t/P1080226.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/8jtpZN93/...

Re: Inials S.G on Sheffield spoon

Again, I believe I have at least partially answered my own question. I found an identical piece at: (admin edit - see Posting Requirements ) I can find no reference to "S.G Silverplate" on any silver reference site. Since the font of "S.G" is similar to that in the Silver Guild s...

Bingo!

I found the exact piece at:
(admin edit - see Posting Requirements )

I had looked twice at the Manchester logo; but discarded it. But your post sent me to Replacements to at least check it out.

Thanks for your effort and tip!

Inials S.G on Sheffield spoon

This is a Sheffield nutspoon that was in my sister’s silver chest. It has only the initials S.G. The sole reference with these initials is to the Silver Guild. I found the answer to my own question, The maker is POOLE. The embossing of the first letter failed (as was most of the G in Georgian. I did a lot of searching on silver plate plus Georgian and found a POOLE tea set on sale with the pattern name in script. Never Give Up!
