Sommer and Pierik?

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this company. I found a butter master knife marked Sommer & Pierik. It also has a patent date of 1887. I have been able to find almost nothing on the Internet about the company. I presume it is plate since it is not marked sterling. Any info would be...

"K" Hallmark?

Thanks for the quick reply but now I am more confused than ever. The other Brunner piece that I have has the lion, an anchor, and a date letter. The anchor is Birmingham right?
