Ah, Whilst it would have been nice to be told it was a real silver piece from 1773, it is great to find out what is really is & the maker.
Sorry to have troubled the forum with what looks to be a basic mistake.

Is this worn hallmark on a goblet Sheffield 1773?
Hi The crown makes me think this hallmark is from Sheffield and the letter looks like that for 1773. However the cartouche looks wrong and I would expect the first year of Sheffield to be quite unusual (it is not 1973!). As very worn, I'm at a loss to know exactly what is the hallmark.
