Re: Single 3 Point Crown Mark + 100 - German?

Sorry I didn't think past / closed auction links would not be allowed (Apologies to the admin). Instead here is just the photo I described above without a link. This image shows the exact crown mark that i'm inquiring about that is also being attributed to "Gustav Lachmann" of Gera Germany...

Re: Single 3 Point Crown Mark + 100 - German?

UPDATE 2: First thanks to anyone who is trying to find this mark. I do believe I may be closer or have found it. On another site under Germany marks I came upon the only 3-point crown (alone without any other mark) who they attribute it to "LACHMANN GUSTAV" (or Gustav Lachmann?) of Gera Ge...

Re: Single 3 Point Crown Mark + 100 - German?

UPDATE: Just won this set at an auction, after closer inspection the knife blades are marked ROSTFREI SOLINGEN -- So I guess it's German. Still trying to find this darn mark.

Single 3 Point Crown Mark + 100 - German?

Need help identifying this silver-plate flatware - Mark is of a Single Crown (No crescents, moons, etc) and the silver gram/count numbers, in this case 100-5. Having the silver numbers makes me think it's possibly German but I cannot find this crown anywhere. The flatware itself looks rather modern ...

Re: Robert Gainsford? RG Eagle Stars "Grave" Mark?

Hi Again, I forgot I even asked about this mark and now almost a year later I found another - this time on a small shot glass (appears to be polished pewter) with the eagle/stars mark and more letters "GRAVERE" I believe. Still cannot find who made this --- "Gravere" seems to be ...

Robert Gainsford? RG Eagle Stars "Grave" Mark?

Hello, I found a spoon today at an auction preview that looked old and has two marks. First I forgot to take a photo of the spoon itself because I was so intent on researching the mark - The spoon is an old two piece (handle joined to bowl underside - not sure what that is technically called.) On ba...

Re: Barry No.92 Spoon

Thank you all for your help - I really appreciate it! I also found from an old book on google that "92" was some sort of patriotic symbol and several silversmiths would use the number in their marks. Glad I didn't throw this out!

Barry No.92 Spoon

I found this spoon in a mixed lot of flatware at an auction - I almost threw this in my junk pile because i didn't recognize the mark and it looked beat up - but I decided to investigate and found the mark is from Standish Barry, a silversmith in Baltimore 1780's-1840's. The only spoons I can find o...
