Re: Mystery caddy Spoon - Provincial?
That is an interesting thought. The pricking in the bowl does remind me of Dutch work, also the stamped shell motif does appear to be very similar, and I have seen later spoons with a sillier stamped shell motif. My only concern with that line of thought is the shape. Dutch Caddy spoons from the ear...

Mystery caddy Spoon - Provincial?
Although I purchased this in America it somehow "feels" like a British provincial caddy spoon. The style and shape is so typical of the late 1700's in England, with that "thin" feel to it. It weighs in around 1/2 oz or 14 Grams and is just under 4" long. There is a stamped &...

Re: Mote Spoon - strange mark
Hi - thank you for your response and comment. I have checked the other side and it appears completely free of any solder mark, but on the back side there certainly does seem to be a lump. I have tried the "breath" test to see if there is a solder mark that shows and there is nothing that I...

Re: Pair of Oar Spoons - just makers mark
Trying again with the pics https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg https://www.925-1000.com/pics/Ximg.jpg See my previous post - The shape and monogram tells me that they are probably Scottish provincial "Oar" pattern around 1800, I have checked all on line resources for hallmarks and found...
