Re: Small unmarked (Russian?) spoon
Thank you for that suggestion. (Sorry for the delay in responding, I've been hit by a fever which had me in bed for over 24 hours) I did try breathing on all the sides of the stem, but am seeing nothing different than how it looks normally.

Small unmarked (Russian?) spoon
Hello,
I purchased this little spoon with two similar Russian spoons - which were marked with the 84 standard (shown and discussed up in the Russian silver section of the forum) ... this has no such marks ... no marks at all that I can see - I do not think that they've been worn off, but I'll post ...

Re: Antique spoons - part 2 - Authentic or not?
Thank you all for weighing in ... and for an majority ruling for authentic. I could try to take better photos of the makers mark if you'd like ... but personally, I'm just happy that this spoon is 19th century ...

Re: Antique spoons - Authentic or not?
Authentic russian spoon. Without doubts. Maybe Mikhail Sokolov, maybe Mariya Semyonova...
How were used? In the catalog of Khlebnikov firm such type of spoons is called "the Russian style"("русский фасон"). They were tea -, dessert - and table spoons. By the size.
Thank you for the confirmation ...

Antique spoons - part 2 - Authentic or not?
Hello!
Here is a small spoon I purchased in a thrift shop recently. Do these (hard to read) marks appear authentic ?
Is this a tea spoon or are they just general all-purpose spoons?
whole spoon about 5¼" (13.3cm) long

Re: Antique spoons - Authentic or not?
Hi SlightlyAtypical,
Welcome to the Forum,
Yes, please start a new topic for each item, else confusion will reign.
Trev.
Thank you, Trev. I shall do that.
Since it has no markings and I'm only assuming that it too is silver, should it be posted in the "Misc." area of the forum or here?

Antique spoons - Authentic or not?
Hello, Thank you for allowing me to join this site (this is my first post and I hope I don't make any major protocol errors)
I recently purchased three spoons from a thrift shop. While asking how they may have been originally used (on another forum), it was suggested that I come here due to so much ...
