I am finding this looks like it might have been made by Julius Herz. Does anyone have any examples of Herz's work?

German Silver Marked 800 Only?

Is this common practice? I recently found a piece that I believe to be German and it's marked only with "800" It's a somewhat important piece in the Trompe L'oeil style. Why would they not mark this with a maker's mark or hallmarks? I'll post pictures in a few minutes. Below the 800 mark y...

Re: Help with a French gold maker

I believe this maker is Leon Tournan. Can anyone confirm this? Does anyone have a picture of his mark? Or any biography information?

Thanks!

Re: Is this American Colonial?

I'm still holding out to find this is a New York colonial piece of Dutch influence. I have no New York books however and I'm open to any help that can be shared.

I genuinely appreciate everyone's help so far! :-)

Re: Is this American Colonial?

Unfortunately this was an eBay purchase and the seller was in the same part of the state as I am (North Carolina)
The seller had no story or back round to share.

To add a little information, here is the composition (scanned under the bowl)
Other parts read as high as 96% silver.
