Image I think these came from the Lake family, big supporters of Charles !, and made fabulously rich by Charles 2 , but from what became a secondary branch down through the ages

date seems confusing

hello, these are the marks on a teacaddy. I am fairly certain the maker is Henry Matthews but the date design has me baffled Any ideas appreciated. Noel Image

I think I have it now. This was made by a country that subscribes to the mark convention, and the mark is the scales. Plus REM is responsible for the mark, whoever they are?

Hi, iffy, because it tries to look like Br. sterling marks, but says R E M - .925 - and a couple of marks that are unreadable. Noel
