Re: Small silver box from London

Hi

I am thinking the H maybe the surname, possibly George Heath or George Howson, however the other letter is badly worn.

Re: Cast Silver Bowl

Sorry for the late reply Aguest. I have now had the bowl tested as 925 minimum silver, as for it being a Tibetan Singing Bowl, I am afraid I haven't got a clue, but it could be.

Cast Silver Bowl

Hi I have put this topic in this section, as the decorative script on this very heavy (for its size) cast bowl looks to be Farsi, Persian or similar, however I stand to be corrected. There are no makers marks or stamps, the only script being what is forming the decoration itself. Can anybody help me...

Re: Tureen Possibly British but unsure.

Yes, although I have seen British silver with makers marks only, I feel this is probably continental.

Interestingly it is being listed at an auction house as being the mark of Paul de Lamerie, wishful thinking indeed.

Thanks for your thoughts.

Tureen Possibly British but unsure.

Hi

I was wondering if the marks on the base of this tureen are recognisable to anyone. There appears to be a PL stamp twice along with another.

Many Thanks

Re: Early 18th English knife

Also the term Stirling is sometimes found on Irish provincial pieces, would you say the third letter is an I ?

Re: Early 18th English knife

I think it may be Irish, is there any evidence of a maker's mark anywhere?

Seal Top Spoon

Hi

Can anyone help me identify the origins of this seal top spoon, it has the characteristics of an English provincial piece, but I haven't been able to find any reference to the marks.

Many Thanks
Martin

Re: Help needed with marks on spectacles

Ok, I have managed to get a better image of the mark (thanks Amena).

Still not sure what it is, a wine glass, pine cone? any thoughts?

Re: Help needed with marks on spectacles

Thank you both very much for the information. So these were made in Paris and subsequently imported to Rome and marked there?

Help needed with marks on spectacles

Hi

Does anyone know the origin of these marks? They were difficult to photograph as they are so small.

Many Thanks

Sugar Tongs Marks

Hi

I was hoping someone may recognise the marks on this pair of sugar tongs with a maker's mark W&B. I am thinking possibly Chinese or American, any help greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks
Martin
