Chamber Candlestick

Hello, I have recently added this to my collection and would appreciate your thoughts on the maker. It appears to me to be John Hamilton as the mark is a crowned IH. 256 g and 5 inches wide, 2 inches high. http://i67.tinypic.com/28tvu40.jpg http://i68.tinypic.com/16qhxi.jpg http://i64.tinypic.com/e5...

Re: Dish Ring

Thank you Steve.

Can anybody point me in the direction of information about John Bayly? I cannot find anything and it is my first piece by that maker.

Re: Dish Ring

Thank you very much, Phil.

I presume that the "D" corresponds with 1800?

Re: Seal Top Spoon

Thanks Scorpio,

I did notice the date issue.

Its an interesting spoon. Do you think that it was made as contemporary 'recreation' or a later fake?

Re: Seal Top Spoon

Many thanks for the information, of its not disappointing, I was aware of what I was buying.

If my understanding is correct, there are no known example of period Irish seal top spoons so that may explain the appetite for such versions.

Unrecognised Hallmarks

This spoon was purchased from a gentleman who found it metal detecting. Any thoughts on the marks would be kindly received - looks like AIM is a misshapen rectangle and a maiden's face and I can make out AC It is the size of a salt spoon. http://i62.tinypic.com/2vwgtmu.png http://i58.tinypic.com/atv...
