Re: George Edward & Sons Hallmark but with another stamp of TH?

I just purchased 2 bowls at auction, I believe to be Burmese. These bear full marks for Glasgow 1896, and the Edward's sponsor's mark. I will post pictures for reference purposes. Thank you to the website owners/contributors, which was all I needed to complete this research, now I have an interestin...

Unidentified Country & Maker - Arts & Crafts silver vase

Hello, This is a recent purchase for me. I bought the item, as it reminded me very much of the Archibald Knox classic 'Bombe' vase. The hallmarks however, don't appear British to me. Simply a .925 in an oval, and a c901 in a similar oval. Any assistance greatly appreciated. http://i1248.photobucket....

Re: French Sugar Castor Paris 1819-38 Maker?

Try this picture for a better shot of the marks. (Taken on its side, so you need to rotate 90 degrees)

Re: French Sugar Castor Paris 1819-38 Maker?

No worries - I'll see if I can get better images of the hallmarks, trying the cleaning suggestion as well. The size - it is approx. 20cm tall by 6.5cm wide at the widest point (across the mouth). I bought it as a sugar castor, but when I started to consider the potential age (given my assumption abo...

French Sugar Castor Paris 1819-38 Maker?

Hello all, I attach here images of a sugar castor (open to ideas if you believe it may be something else) which is rather nicely crafted with repousse work and nicely executed gargoyles (or similar design). The piece is gilded to the interior. There are three marks, one on the lid, two on the body. ...
