Re: Garrard Examples

I don't know Trev and neither did the previous owner. If the letters are LERC as the previous owner thought then it could be x x Running Club. Or in could be an A thus Athletics Club. Nike is the Mascot for Olympic Track and Field. (or something to that effect) No idea what the first 2 letters could...

SC - London - 1902

Not sure how I managed to stuff up the last post but I will try again and hopefully someone can tell me how to delete that one. (realize my error of posting Scottish Hallmarked items on the London page now) Another one listed as SG when it is SC [with unclear photos]. All the errors have been benefi...

Re: Some info on this hallmark please.

Might as well show them, they aren't a silversmith I have encountered before or since yet their silver attracts very high prices too. Quite similar to Liberty & co on some items. Others might like to see them. http://i13.photobucket.com/albums/a295/d-argent007/Lawsonandco003.jpg http://i13.photo...

Lawson & Co. Example

Should I post a pic of the Lawson & Co teaspoons that were sold to me as Liberty & Co?

I really need to be a little less trusting methinks. LOL

Better get some sleep. Nite all.

Re: Some info on this hallmark please.

Thank you Dognose. Do you happen to know if a small worker would make a teapot? It isn't a large pot but it still weighs 700 grams so a fairly good gauge of silver and it isn't a simple piece.

Re: Some info on this hallmark please.

Hello Dognose I was pretty much expecting to be disappointed. Thanks for sharing your awesome knowledge, I have read many of your posts and your knowledge truly amazes me.

Are you able to link me to any of this silversmiths work or photos of his mark, Google wouldn't bring him up for me.

Some info on this hallmark please.

The hallmarks are lower case g for 1862, Leopard head London, Lion Passant, Victoria effigy duty stamp and Initials SG [I'm hoping Sebastian Garrard 1] or SC whoever that would be. I bought this as a R & S Garrard teapot and I would love opinions from some of you more experienced silver buffs. I...
