Re: Help on Chinese Export Silver Enamel Napkin Rings Makers Mark UN?

The mark is "RUN JI 潤記 [jyutping JEON GEI]; a Canton-based workshop
The retailer mark is not "UN"; it's "WH" for Wang Hing & Co
Unusual to find enamelled Chinese silver napkin rings

Re: Makers Mark identification “S.M”, Japanese/Chinese?

Has anyone seen this mark before and knows anything about it?
I haven't, but am wondering if this has anything to do with the Sun Sun department store in Shanghai

You've solved it!
I was so fixated on the fact the last impress looked like a tree that I couldn't see anything else but a tree!

Re: POSSIBLE CHINESE EXPORT SILVER PSEUDO-HALLMARK?

Hi Trevor

Do you really think the first mark is a "pseudo" lion passant?

As for the duty mark, what do you think it's trying to emulate?

I've never seen a Canton mark like this

POSSIBLE CHINESE EXPORT SILVER PSEUDO-HALLMARK?

This is the correct transliteration from Cantonese
Apparently he is a sought after maker by Chinese collectors but no collector seems to know his origin
