Re: Need Help with Birth Record Spoon Mark
Great information Cheryl, again I greatly appreciate it. The vast knowledge of the users on this site is wonderful. I have looked at the stork spoon you mentioned as well as others but I couldn't find any such as this one. This is the same Mauser spoon I referred to in the initial post here. Curious...

Re: Need Help with Birth Record Spoon Mark
Thanks for you insight JL Doggett. I appreciate the response. So I assume you're saying these things (the malformed makers mark and backwards "N") may indicate this spoon isn't a genuine piece?

Albert Coles Fish Serving Set - Seeking Info
A recently passed family member had this set. With a little research and help of the good people on this forum I found it was Albert Coles. However I have yet to see anything of his online that resembles the pattern on the handle as well as the scenery on the face of the knife. The handle was engrav...

Re: Seeking Info On Single Marked Sterling Ladle
Very impressed with your knowledge and eye. It makes complete sense that it's Whiting because in this same collection I got from a relative here in Massachusetts there was some Watson pieces which is from Attleboro, MA. Whiting I read was produced out of North Attleboro, MA. Again thanks so much!

Would Appreciate Help Identifying These Marks
These spoons have passed through the family recently and I am only assuming (from my research) that I'm posting in the correct section (Sheffield). However I have been way off on all my items. I am completely green when it comes to silverware. I am finding all the history behind these pieces fascina...

Re: Need Help with Birth Record Spoon Mark
Thanks so much Oel. I agree it looks very similar yet malformed. I also notice now when looking again the "N" is backwards in word sterling. Any thoughts on that?

Need Help with Birth Record Spoon Mark
I recently came upon many items through a family member. Most I tried to research and have an idea as to what they are. This mark however looked very different than the others and I couldn't find anything online matching it. It is on a silver stork baby spoon. The birth record is on the bowl of the ...

Please Help With Serving Fork and Knife Set Marks
I will begin by saying I am new to this form and ever knew to silverware. I recently came upon a lot of old flatware since the passing of a relative. This particular fork and knife is elaborately designed and singed on both handles with what I believe says Sr John Phillips. I am assuming Sr = Sir? A...
