I have this silver teaset with a bamboo design. Teapot, sugar,milk and tongs.
Marked to base with a rising sun motive with sterling below....also with K Y
Any ideas as to manufaturer.

Perhaps Malay silver incense holder or ???
Here is another piece from the lot of silver as teaset. This piece has floral leaves and the inner has pierced holes in shape of flowers. It stands on 4 small feet. I have no idea as to what it could be used for...perhaps incense. The base as seen in the teaset has a stamped motive and perhaps this ...

3 piece teaset hand hammered
Hi all....am stumped with this set....although i did read some article on Malaysian silver. Could this be Malay work. I also bought some other pieces in the lot.

A Big thank you to all for the information. The rising sun made me think possibly Japanese.....i also looked at the K Y as Kentucky but guess thats far stretched as i know so little about American silver.

I have had this teaset some 20 years and have been unable to find any information as to whether it is American or some place else and to the maker

Thats just perfect and after some hunting i did find the mark tucked away in the top of the pot. Hmmm learnt a lot in this posting

Perhas French fromm the markings but not 100% sure
Hi all I have found this delightful little teapot where the lid opens from the side. To the inner spout there are many holes for the strainer. A similar mark i saw under French silver but not exactly the same. Hoping someone could be of help or point me in a direction where i can do further research...

Interesting that they have no designer to this Pokal....but as y<you say perhaps they just turned production out by the thousands.

Thanks for looking and the reply.
The last mark to the right....somehow i remember was to do with a commissioned piece that was gilded...or something to that effect.
Its the intertwined letters that intrigue me.
